Preston Bus Station by Jonathan Kenyon

Threatened with closure since a failed application for listed building status by English Heritage, Preston’s famous bus station – considered one of the largest in Europe – is one of those pieces of architecture that will forever polarise opinion. Considered by many as “ugly” yet heralded by others for it’s utilitarian elegance… Capturing its current state – darkly depressing with a melancholic beauty, much like the setting of a Shane Meadows film – Jonathan Kenyon, has delicately captured the bleak rawness of the concrete behemoth.
